In 2011 I got the travel bug. Not a sickness that put me in bed but an itch to get out of the city and experience some of what Australia has to offer.

We purchased our first 4wd, a 1992 Nissan Patrol, and a new to us Bayliner sports boat and started enjoying life instead of being stuck in the daily grind of cutting the lawns, painting the houses etc. You get the point!

As a family we love to experience new places. For us, most of the time it is places on the water that we love going to. We also enjoy the quiet of the mountains as well.

Our preference is to stay in holiday houses, apartments, cabins and motels. We do also have camping gear and have enjoyed the odd spot of camping.

We try to escape the city at the end of every school term and will set off on adventures on weekends. Mostly just day trips.

I feel I need to mention that we don’t earn lots of money. Just enough to be able to do what we do. I guess it’s about prioritising what you want out of life. Others have said it before but I work to live not live to work.
